KWAKORTI — BEFORE YOUR PERSONAL FONT 1. DECIDE WHAT IT SHOULD DO Books / dedications / letters / stationery / framed words: Applications and operating systems you use: Languages, letters, numerals, accents and punctuation required: Desktop use only, web use, or sharing with a printer/designer: 2. THINK ABOUT YOUR NATURAL HAND Print / joined script / a mix: What gives your writing its character? What would you like refined for readability? 3. PREPARE A SAMPLE FOR DISCUSSION Write naturally in dark ink on clean paper. Avoid tracing a typeface. Keep the page flat, evenly lit and in focus if photographing it. Do not include your signature, account information or confidential text. Do not fill a character grid until we agree the required template and coverage. This checklist itself is not a conversion template or a font generator. 4. CLARIFY PERMISSION Is this your writing? If not, what permission do you have to use it? Old letters may lack characters; reconstructed shapes must be identified. Private use, portfolio permission and public resale are separate decisions. 5. APPROVE A REAL PROOF Test names, dates, punctuation and a paragraph in the intended application. Check readability at the intended print size. Agree files, rights, revisions and installation help in the written proposal. A font reproduces appearance. It does not authenticate writing or replace a signature. NEXT STEP Describe your intended use at capkamau@gmail.com. We will agree a suitable way to receive your sample.
